How to use the WCIFR dashboard

This dashboard provides Worker Compensation Injury Frequency Rates (WCIFRs) by industry, occupation and claims type. WCIFRs are one source of information to support WHS reporting.

WCIFRs are calculated as the number of claims per million hours worked over a given time-period. You can use the dashboard to calculate WCIFRs for your organisation for total claims or by claim type (lost time, serious, permanent impairment, and significant time lost claims). Find out more about WCIFRs.

Compare WCIFRs by Industry or Occupation, or explore WCIFRs by other measures. Information on how to interact with the data is in the WCIFR dashboard user guide

The Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) calculator was retired in May 2025 and replaced by the Workers' Compensation Injury Frequency Rate (WCIFR) dashboard below. You can find LTIFR data by selecting ‘Compare WCIFR by Industry’ and using the Claims type ‘Lost time claims’. Please visit the Work health and safety reporting page for more information about how to assess and measure your organisation's work health and safety performance.

Note: The interactive dashboards employ suppression techniques for small and/or unreliable results and estimates. This may cause some data to not be published in the charts.
